Christian and Catholic Faiths vs. The Da Vinci Code Book & Movie
Topic: AllpromSeason

Evangelical Christians and Catholics find a common ground. They are united against the fallacies published in Dan Brown's bestselling book, The Da Vinci Code. Now the movie adapted from the book is coming up, they are finding more reasons to mount a multimedia battle involving a web site, www.jesusdecoded.com, a booklet and documentary to be broadcast on NBC. In the meantime, Dan Brown is being grilled in a British court for allegedly lifting portions from the previously published book, The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail, for his book. Now in court, he is saying that the research for his book was conducted by his wife. He even gave more info about his upbringing and his love for codes and numbers. He also talked about his father who was a mathematician, fond with numbers.

It will be interesting to have read the book before watching the movie. At the same time, many writers are finding mistakes in The Da Vinci Code. They are publishing books to help The Code readers make sense and reaffirm their faith.

Designers Who Dress Hot Stars
Topic: AllpromSeason
The star of Michael Jackson is on trial. His persona is being looked into by the judge, sheriff, district attorney and jurors. But his sartorial style continues to turn heads.

On day 1 of his trial, he wore a white three-piece suit with lots of jeweled baubles at the waist and a gold armband.

What does he wear on Day 2? Being the king of Pop, Michael may think he is not a common man before the law. There is no white shirt and black suit for him. he wears a black suit and a red shirt with a choker pendant, a brocade vest and a royal crest.

What Michael Jackson will find out is that the court is not a music video scene. Jurors will look at his clothes to get a peak at his personality. Will his theatrical clothing affect jurors' perceptions?

Maybe not. Everyone who sits on the jury may have known about Michael Jackson before. The guy just likes weird outfits. They may not determine his guilt or innocence either. Jurors will have to consider the evidence presented by the prosecutor.

What's allowed and what's banned in Prom Season Shopping

Some have it easier than others. It depends on which high school you happen to visit and whether you talk to parents, students or principals. What's clear is that, for the most part, students feel that those who are in charge don't trust them enough to let them shop for what's in fashion. That's the crux of the problems.

What's in fashion, what's in may show too much skin wich parents and principals don't want to see on the prom dance floor. Students should remember that school principals are not as up to date on the latest fashion trends. Most of them may not understand the marriage of fashion and hip hop. This lack of sophistication and savvy may be at the roots of all these edicts and negative stance towards dresses style.

No wonder that students complain about all the restrictions that are set in place right about the arrival of the prom season. Here's a set of guidelines by Quaker High.

"According to the school Principal's Feb. 6 letter to parents of the district, students not adhering to the dress code for the prom will not be allowed to attend the event.

Items not appropriate for men attending the prom include "footwear such as 'flip flops' or ripped, worn tennis shoes," and "shorts."

Men are to remain fully dressed throughout the evening, according to the letter, which specifies that men are not permitted to remove their dress shirts or change into T-shirts.

Women, while bound roughly by the same footwear restrictions, are not allowed to expose "bare midriffs." Dresses are not permitted to have "cut-out or mesh portions of gowns that expose flesh in an inappropriate way." No dresses may be cut lower than mid-back, have low necklines or be shorter than mid-thigh."
