Bed Bugs are everywhere even in the best hotel resorts. Embassy Suites in Oxnard, CA had quite a few.
I was surprised to find bed bugs at Embassy Suites, Oxnard, California. Even though we did not spend our first night there,
we returned the next day to talk to the manager. We found a new room which had no bugs. Bed bugs in some of the most upscale
hotels in the country are a huge problem. We went to Hilton which is part of the family of hotels. When we returned the
next day, they gave us a discount, but we had to pay for the whole price at Hilton. Other people we talked to said that the
Embassy Suites manager should have done more after scaring us like this. More will come here! Stay tuned.
8-12-2006 Open Letter to Hilton Hotels
Hilton Hotels,
The reason of this message is to bring to your
attention an incident that happened at Embassy Suites
in Oxnard, CA. As a family, we feel that the hotel
could have done more for us.
We had made our reservations to the hotel. When we
arrived, we checked in, received our keys and went to
the assigned room. Since we were very tired, we
proceeded to go to bed only to find a few bugs running
under the sheet. We were surprised by them. We
thought the room should have been cleaned. And the
beds should have been made. Please see the video

So we packed our stuff and went to talk to the clerk
at the front desk. He gave us the keys to a new room
with only one bed and a couch. Our initial room had
two beds and a couch. We agreed to take the room
because the kids were tired and started complaining.
When we arrived at the next room, we checked the
sheets only to find out that they had bugs too. At
that point, we had it with the hotel. We wanted to
live. The clerk did try to help us by referring us to
the Hilton hotel which we ended up paying. We are
thinking that the Embassy Suites should have picked up
the tabs for the hotel. We did spend a good night at
the Hilton hotels which are also part of the family
hotels.
When we came back to the Embassy Suites the next day,
we explained our trouble to the day manager who helped
us get into a different room with a small discount.
We feel that the hotel could have done more to
accommodate us considering the inconvenience it has
caused to us. It is true we ended up having a good
time at the hotel. We paid for the rest of our stay.
