2007 Toyota Tundra Continues to Show The Toyota Way
Topic: All Car Issues

Introduced in 1999, the Toyota Tundra is there to compete with the Big Three. GM, Ford and the others have to pay attention to this Toyota engineering. Toyota executives are taking pride in their output which has attracted consumers from various ethnic groups. Asians, Hispanics, Blacks and Caucasians are the favorite users of the truck. That does not mean that the trucks that Ford, Chevy and Dodge put out do not show these companies’ competitive edge. Toyota executives know what they had to do. They had to go back to the engineering board.

Enters the new 2007 Toyota Tundra. It is big, bold and has a tremendous presence among all the other trucks on the road. This new truck will be on sale next year. At least then, Toyota will have a truck that goes head on with the Big boys of the automotive industry. With chrome-laden grille, thicker body and doors, the Tundra is ready. For sure, this new version of the Tundra appears more rugged. Now it is time for Toyota executives to start talking about the power of the truck. They are boasting that it will set records and set new benchmarks in the truck industry. It will offer 5.7 liter V-8 engine as well as the current 4.0-liter V-6 and 4.7-liter V-8 engine. It will be able to tow more than 10,000 pounds capacity. For sure, this number sets a new benchmark. The 2007 Tundra will come in three cab configurations. It will be offered in more than 30 different models. That is the way Toyota has been able to customize its customers’ needs on a macro level. Personification is also something the company pays attention to. Now it rests to be seen whether the Tundra cabin is going to be roomy too. Toyota executives have already announced it is going to be roomier than many other trucks cabins. So far, a lot has been based on this truck. According to many Toyota executives, the 2007 Tundra has the potential of making a major positive impact on the company’s business and bottom line.

2007 Toyota’s Best Truck is based on history, new tech and vision

It has been said that the new truck has everything a truck driver is looking in a truck: brawn, power, looks, size, Toyota’s quality, reliability. Toyota is ready to take the battle to the other truck builders. It is ready to knock heads with Bill Ford who thinks that it can take on the Toyota Way. At the same time, Toyota is ready to build a new plant in Texas so it can meet the demands of the local market. After all, Texas remains one of the biggest truck markets in the country. So the company will bet on the marketability of trucks built by Texans. Toyota will be able to build up to 200,000 trucks per year. No wonder that Ford must pay attention to Toyota’s incursions. So far, Ford has its own weapons. Dodge can always come out with something that will match and surpass Toyota’s bragging rights. Revealing too much too early may not be a good idea for the Japanese automaker.

Toyota also has its first Hybrid Camry Trying to stay a few steps ahead of the competition is the name of the game. The new, 6th generation 2007 Toyota Camry is here with us. Toyota made a strategic move by coming out with this hybrid camry. It is banking on name recognition and the long history of the sedan on the American marketplace. The Camry continues to be one of the industry’s best-selling passenger cars. It sells more than 6.5 million units in the United States and more than 10 million globally. It will be equipped with Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive system. The 2007 Camry is unchanged from the previous model. Its wheelbase is longer by more than two inches. More legroom in the front and the rear is added. It is an inch wider.

Watch the Meds You Are Taking: Medication Recalls
Topic: Pharmaceuticals

TWO ADVERSE REPORTS THAT ARE (OR MAY BE) SIGNIFICANT TO A PERSON WHO HAS DIABETES:

FDA and GlaxoSmithKline notified healthcare professionals about postmarketing reports of new onset and worsening of diabetic macular edema (a complication having to do with the eye which can cause blindness) for patients receiving AVANDIA (Rosiglitazone). In some cases, the macula edema resolved or improved following discontinuation of the drug. I would recommend that anyone taking AVANDIA check with the doctor that is prescribing this drug. Regardless of what medication is being taken, every diabetic should have a yearly evaluation by an OPTHAMOLOGIST.

2. Roche Diagnostics and FDA notified healthcare professionals of a worldwide Voluntary Recall of specific ACCU-CHEK AVIVA METERS, used to measure blood sugar levels, because of the potential for an electronic malfunction which can cause the meter to report an erroneous result of shut down and no longer be used. The recall includes U.S. Serial Numbers 52500000000 through 52510999999.

This recall does not apply to meters with U.S. Serial Numbers 52511000000 and higher or ACCU-CHEK Aviva test strips.

Thinking about others
Topic: Fixwhatsbroken News

Joey Cheek won gold in the 500-meter speedskating event in Turin, but he may be remembered for something else. In his victory speech, he turned his attention to the plight of children, men and women in Darfur, Africa and other places on the African continent. The 26-year-old olympian must have been thinking about these things. They may have consumed him. He wants to dedicate his winning money to relieve the situation in Africa. One of his sponsors has already offered to match his donations. That is good news for the suffering people of Africa.

Kildow's left ski slid out as she came off a dip. Her problem began on a series of bumps. Her right knee buckled as she fell. She went airborne for about 15 feet and landed hard on her back. Everyone is saying that she is as tough as nail. She will recover and may participate in these games. Austrian Hermann Maier had his own crash in the downhill at Nagano. Those are memorable events. Spills come with the games. They are part of the drama that mother Nature stages. Lindsey Kildow will be in command again.

The Toyota Way vs. Ford Way
Topic: All Car Issues

Bill Ford Wants to Fight Toyota and Sees Toyota at its Peak; Will the Toyota Way Prevail?
Mrs. Kat for http://prominfo.podshoppingblog.com, Podshoppingblog Data Fusion

Bill Ford looks forward to taking Toyota on. His goal is to fight Toyota and everybody else. He wants to bring Ford to its pinnacle and glorious days. "I am not ceding anything to Toyota. They're an excellent company and terrific competitor," he admitted. Toyota is poised on ruling the world of the automotive industry. Ford knows the Toyota Way. That is why he is seeking to restructure, re-engineer the company which has to go through change and innovation.

Let us take a look at the Toyota Way: a. Kaizen. Toyota is about continuous improvements. Employees come to work to get better each day. b. GG or Genchi genbutsu. Toyota's workers are encouraged to go to the source of the problem. c. Challenge. They are not afraid of challenge. The attitude is that problems are not bad. They help improve the bottom line. d. Teamwork. Company's interests come first before those of the individuals. e. Respect. There must be respect for other people, not just as people but also for their skills and knowledge. Toyota considers all employees as kowledge workers who can think creatively.

Bill Ford agrees that his company will have to start building vehicles that consumers want. Personification and customization will be the way Ford will have to go. Let the customers get the products they want.

McDonald's Sells Gluten-laden French Fries and other Products

McDonald's Sells Gluten-laden French Fries and other Products

Now that the company comes clean with its admission that its French Fries contain more than trans fat than previously admitted or led to believe, we, consumers, can trace the roots of our malaise after eating at the popular restaurant. We now know that McDonald's uses wheat and dairy ingredients as flavors in its popular menu. The following is one of my most recent cases involving the company.

While waiting for my oil change to be completed, I ventured out to the area where the restroom and McDonald's restaurant share walls. I was stopped by a nice clerk who only offered me a bite of a crispy bit of chicken on a stick. That was all I needed to spend two days of ballooned stomach, discomfort and flatulences. I had such a horrible case of allergic reactions. I am sensitive to dairy products.

Now I know why I hate McDonald's foods. They used to make me sick all the time. For the inconvenience and discomfort, the company is not going to compensate me despite its recent admission. I now know that the company lied because it used to say that its fries were free of gluten and milk or wheat allergens. It used to say that its foods were safe to eat for those with dietary issues related to the consumption of dairy items. I know I used to eat Franken McDonald's gluten-laden foods.

McDonald's recently added "Contains wheat and milk ingredients" to the french fries listing on its web site. Do I trust anything put out by a food company any longer? For the longest time, I switched to Silk. It used to sit well with my stomach. But lately, I do not seem to tolerate it well. Does it have something that is not announced yet? As a consumer, I just dream about the day when our foods can be free from any additives.

Ford's Comeback Plan: Ford 250 Super Chief Concept
Topic: BrokenFord/FordRecall

F-250 Super Chief is a Cute, Macho but Gigantic Hippotamus to Own

Here is the superbowl of a powerplant truck for the regular guys

What are the first features that capture your attention?

It appears that the F-250 Super Chief is built to last. It has a tri-flex supercharged 6.8-liter V-10 that produces up to 310 horsepower and 425 lbs.-ft. of torque. It has been described as being environmentally friendly. It produces low emissions. Do not expect this truck soon. Ford wants potential buyer to see the new directions William Clay Ford wants to take the company. After all, "We want to build vehicles that the consumers will want," he said just recently. Bill is ready to be aggressive and take the battle to his illustrous company's competitors. He has Toyota in mind. Yes, with all the recent financial and restructuring problems experienced by the American auto industry, Toyota firmly grabs its spot at the top of the food chain. But it is not resting on its laurels yet. It is quickly finding how tough it is to stay on top. Where else to go? Toyota's culture will take over.

Ford reports that the F-250 Super Chief will run for 500 miles between fill-ups on hydrogen, E85 ethanol and gasoline. Now this is a great engineering feast by Ford company engineers who believe that innovation will once again give them the competitive edge. Each fuel type is stored in separate container. Let us take a look inside the auto shows to peek into the super truck. We see walnut, brown leather and aluminium, two feet of space n front of the rear seats where you can find ottomans that can deploy from the floor. They expect the truck buyer to have his cigar. There is a cigar cutter. There is a first with the Super Chief. Its roof is formed with glass, brace inside with a grid wood.

What do we see on the exterior? We see the signs that Ford can make a comeback. As far as knowing when, we may not know this. But with the Super Chief, they have already taken a new direction. Looking at the exterior of the F-250, one automatically gets transported back to the times of Amercan locomotive power. It is the symbol of bold American design and engineering, the in-your-face type of craft. It will be quite a drive for many Ford aficionados, the working men and women of this country. The truck will soon become the new symbol of the crystalization of the American Dream. F-250 Super Chief is loaded with symbolism: grandeur, wild west journeys, open road, great power that built the prospering American economy and the locomotives of the past roaring over vast expanses of the land connecting strangers and bringing goods to far flung places.

What's Zillow? Zillow Ready to Give an Edge to Realty Buyers and Sellers
Topic: Fix Broken Real Estate

People, Zillow.com has arrived. It is here to take on the realty giants. It is liberating and democratizing the whole real estate market. Buyers and sellers are not tied to the real estate agent's whims and caprices any longer. Welcome Zillow.com! Homeowners and realty buyers and sellers welcome your moves.

Zillow.com is backed by two well-known VC, venture capital firms, Benchmark Capital and technology Crossover Ventures. In addition, it has a dream team of engineers and dedicated employees under the direction of Expedia's founder, Rich Barton. This company has already raised $6 million dollars. Based on the success that Barton created with Expedia, one can already see the signs of success that will come to Zillow.com. After all, it makes sense because there are more consumers than there are real estate agents and big realty companies that have been oppressing and dominating the real estate market. The more players there are, the better it is for the consumer. Now, not only will we be able to know our home values with Zillow, we will also know our neighbors' ones. All of this is for free. No more need to enter private information or fill out forms that take an eternity! All of that was so a real estate agent could contact us by phone. So, you can imagine what this niche market will mean for homeowners, buyers and sellers. There is no doubt that Zillow is going to be the place to be. Marketers will want their products to be featured there too.

Real estate brokers will have to change their ways when dealing with consumers. They will have to take off the veil. They will have to be as clear as possible about their fees. No wonder that the DOJ filed a lawsuit against the national association of real estate for obstructing competition, threatening to lock in outmoded business models and inflating real estate prices. Zillow.com will go straight to the heart of Housevalues.com, Cendant and Multiple Listing Service which tend to protect brokers' standards and paycheck.

So What's Zillow?;

Zillow, Inc. is a consumer online real estate service (Zillow.com), created by a group of Internet veterans from Expedia, Amazon.com and Microsoft Corp. Zillow, Inc. was founded in early 2005, with corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA.

Expedia helped travel agents out of work. Zillow.com will put real estate brokers out of work soon. Huge realy companies and brokers' reign of terror will be over soon with Zillow

Zillow, Inc. 999 3rd Avenue Suite 4100 Seattle, WA 98104 Phone: (206) 587-0414 Fax: (206) 587-0408

French Satirist Magazine Charlie Hebdo Publishes All the Mohammed Cartoons
Topic: Fixwhatsbroken News

President Jacques Chirac is not happy with the publication. So he voiced his protest against the publication by the French Satirist magazine Charlie Hebdo. Chirac does not want to upset the large Muslim population living in France. But thanks to the freedom of press, Charlie Hebdo went ahead and published the protest-causing cartoons any way.

France does not want a repeat of the recent incidents in its capital and towns. It is a great balance. It is time to fix the problem.
