Clerk From Brian Calhoun's District2 Office Called
Topic: Fix What's Broken

On Feb. 1, 2006, we e-mailed this blog to the office of Brian Calhoun with a letter crying for help. As soon as they received it, a clerk called us to acknowledge the receipt of the letter. She promised she would pass a copy onto the right city officials. Her gesture gave us hope, but we have not seen any actions from Sunriver also known as Patriots Homes or Mark One or Mark I.

We will write a new letter to the Fresno's City Manager, Mr. Souza, Mayor Alan Autry, Brian Calhoun. A copy of this letter will also be mailed to Sunriver.

Our goal is to have Sunriver clean up and keep the lot clean. We are tired of living with rats, mice and other rodents that find easy refuge in the piles of trash the company generates. Some of our neighbors are ashamed to have friends visit them. They often question our willingness to live with this foul-smelling output of a building company. One of our guests who was from Boston, Massachussets said that in Boston, the company would not get away with this type of open-air waste stored between private residences. Well, we do not like what we are seeing here. We are sick to our stomach looking at this trash day in and day out. It is not OK to have to put up with rats and mice. It is not ok when our kids are afraid of being in the garage and back yard of our property.

All we are asking is for the city to force Sunriver to maintain a clean lot and pay WM to have them pick up the waste on a very regular basis.

One of the dirt piles is picked up
Topic: Sunriver Waste Spotlight

One of the piles of dirt hiding the construction waste in the back was picked up yesterday. Another huge pile of dirt and broken materials is still there. The WM trailer is full now. It has been this way for quite a few weeks now. With the wind, we had debris being flown all over the yard. Fat rats and mice find easy habitat in the plastic, sheetrock, cement, cardboard, board and scrap-metal-laden waste that is strewn all over the lot. Some of this waste has been there since September 2005.

In the meantime, fat rats, mice and other pests are taking over the neighborhood. They can be seen running from the piles of bricks that are in the front of the lot. They also come from the trash near the cement wall in the back.

Zillow, Zillow! What Took You So Long! Out the door, Real Estate Agents and Brokers
Topic: Fix What's Broken

Real estate brokers will have to change their ways when dealing with consumers. They will have to take off the veil. They will have to be as clear as possible about their fees. No wonder that the DOJ filed a lawsuit against the national association of real estate for obstructing competition, threatening to lock in outmoded business models and inflating real estate prices. Zillow.com will go straight to the heart of Housevalues.com, Cendant and Multiple Listing Service which tend to protect brokers' standards and paycheck.

https://shopnowshop.tripod.com/fixwhatsbroken, So What's Zillow?;

Zillow, Inc. is a consumer online real estate service (Zillow.com), created by a group of Internet veterans from Expedia, Amazon.com and Microsoft Corp. Zillow, Inc. was founded in early 2005, with corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA.

Expedia helped travel agents out of work. Zillow.com will put real estate brokers out of work soon. Huge realy companies and brokers' reign of terror will be over soon with Zillow

Wildflower Seeds Show How Clovis Cares About Her Residents and Homeowners
Mood:  celebratory
Topic: Why Fresno is not Clovis

From the trash piles of Sunriver to Clovis Beautification project: World of differences

Who would not want to live in a place where city officials care about your investments? They work well with the local builders and developers to cough up the money to beautify the major Highway, (Highway 168), leading to the city? Yes, you may pay a premium in fees for the priviledge, but it is worth living there. Officials who receive complaint reports will actually do something about them. We were elated to read in the local paper that Clovis invests more than $15,000 in purchasing wildflower seeds to spread along the highway. For those of you who have never seen the beautiful collage of color during the Spring months around here, you will be in for a huge surprise.

What should you expect to find in the Spring?

The wildflowers from the highway will lead to the doors of the city. If you choose to follow Clovis trails, you will be pleasantly surprised by these varieties of flowers: snapdragon, lupine, African daisy, toadflax, tidytips, desert goldfields, yellow, red and white California poppies. It is a feast for the senses. You will not have to put up with construction waste left behind or stored by a major builder such as Sunriver. Well, let us just add that it has been announced that Caltrans will also spread seeds along Highway 168 interchanges and the freeways's grassy areas. That is good news. Guess who are the contributors in the Clovis's Wildfflower Beautification project?

The Clovis City Engineer said that a bunch of builders and developers chip in to raise the money. Among the donors, you find such great local home builders such as Wilson Homes, home builder Wathen-Castanos, home builder Lennar Fresno, Gary McDonald Homes, the engineering firm of Blair, Church & Flynn, landscape architects Broussard & Associates, Garret Construction, Agee Construction etc. etc.

How great is this? Unlike Sunriver that stores trash on its vacant lot in a top Fresno residential area, Clovis wants to remain attractive. Its officials seize any opportunity to showcase its beauty. Around here in Fresno, there is inertia.

Way to go, Clovis! We just hope to survive this stinking mountain of trash from Sunriver!

City Codes Are There to be Enforced: Who is watching out for the little guys in hot construction zones?
Topic: Official Inertia

We have fresh trash to show you. We have some news. Yesterday a load of waste was hauled away. Sunriver is just making more space to dump new trash. It seems that they only take away the least amount of trash after complaints from the residents.
